Get to know the Liberec Region through a school trip, curative stay, sports camp or ski training trip. In addition to the accommodation capacities suitable for school trips, we also offer an accompanying programme which is interesting and above all educational.
A number of places in the Liberec Region are perfect for stays of bigger groups. Accommodation is provided in guesthouses, hotels or chalets, which are often equipped with a common room, sports field or a gym and very often a swimming pool or other relaxation facilities. It goes without saying that half board, full board and group discounts are all on offer. In the summer season we particularly recommend places with swimming facilities such as Mácha´s lake, Sloup v Čechách, Hrádek nad Nisou, Holany ponds, Hamr na Jezeře, Malá Skála or Podtrosecká údolí. In the vicinity of these places there are many castles, chateaus, ruins or rock cities with which to plan trips around.
Mountain resorts in the surroundings of Bedřichov, Tanvald or Smržovka in the Jizera Mountains and Harrachov, Rokytnice nad Jizerou, Benecko or Jilemnice in the Giant Mountains are suitable for ski courses and winter training camps. There are ski lifts for all levels and prepared cross-country ski tracks in the vicinity of the accommodation. Sports activities can be complemented with adrenalin sports (bob-sleigh run, rope climbing course).
For trips focused on research of the natural sciences you can visit the Dolomite caves in Bozkov, observe the formations created by wind and ice in the upper parts of the Giant Mountains or rock formations in Bohemian Paradise, Mácha´s Region and the Lusatian Mountains. Collections of precious stones can be seen either in the Bohemian Paradise Museum in Turnov or in smaller museums nearby. Educational programmes for one or more days can be organised by centres for ecological education.
In the museums and glassworks in Jablonec nad Nisou, Železný Brod, Nový Bor, Kamenický Šenov or Harrachov you can learn about the history and production of glass. Tours of the glassworks usually include a demonstration of glass blowing or sharpening. You can visit traditional pressed bead factories in the surroundings of Železný Brod and Jablonec nad Nisou.
A suitable place for a school trip is also Liberec itself, where in addition to a trip to the zoo, with its white tigers, and the Botanical gardens, you can also visit the educational IQ Park, in which you can discover the laws of physics through its interactive exhibition.
When planning school trips, you can find the appropriate inspiration in the already established paths accompanied with a commentary, such as “Following the tales of Český ráj”, or wandering with dwarves Korálek and Jablůňka in the area around Jablonec nad Nisou. The Liberec Region is also interwoven with innumerable educational paths providing information on various themes.
